In my speech at today’s plenary session of the House of Representatives, I began by expressing our full support for our brothers and sisters in the Gulf and Saudi Arabia. I stressed that energy and the nuclear programme are central to national sovereignty and security, especially amid complex regional and international conditions.
I noted that Egypt is pursuing a clear vision to strengthen its strategic capabilities under an informed political leadership, while protecting citizens’ interests and avoiding additional burdens on them.
I also emphasised the importance of a unified national electronic register of radioactive materials and related activities. This would improve management, strengthen transparency, regulate the market and create an attractive investment environment in this vital sector.
I stressed the need to train and develop Egyptian professionals, who are essential to building domestic technological capability and ensuring the long-term success of this strategic project.
I also called for a modern oversight system that ensures the highest standards of safety and transparency in managing this vital area.
