The issue of changes is no longer a luxury, but has become a reality, a tangible impact on everyone, and all countries of the world, to confirm that nature is stronger than any progress, it has invaded, California, Australia and even Siberia, floods in western Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium, and no one is far from what happens in the future no matter what progress, so the eyes of the world next November around the city of peace Sharm El Sheikh, where the World Climate Summit, COP27, the flag forum for climate But the summit is taking place amid major challenges from a global energy crisis that has engulfed Europe, fears of coal use in Europe’s winter and its pollution, the crisis in Russia and Ukraine, and the ensuing negative food and supply chain impacts.
The choice of Egypt to host the World Climate Summit is not a vacuum, but an effort to confront that phenomenon, as Egypt is one of the most affected developing countries by climate change despite the lack of greenhouse gas emissions, since the climate conference in Paris 2016, and Egypt is working on a project to replace the old means of transport with modern natural gas, and rationalize energy, most notably the use of gas, in buses instead of gasoline and review the environment law to introduce climate change, and expansion in the field of clean and renewable energy, especially after the great success achieved. Cooperation projects that serve the goals of green transformation, for example replacing old power plants with new ones, are currently preparing a comprehensive hydrogen strategy.
Egypt is moving towards the “green economy” as one of the means to achieve sustainable development, and the government has decided that 50% of the plan’s criteria for the state will be in line with environmental standards, to integrate the environmental dimension in the projects of other ministries, until 50% of the projects of different ministries for green projects in the coming period.
During his recent visit to Germany and participation in the St. Petersburg Dialogue, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi put “the world in front of its responsibilities towards this important issue of climate change, and the importance of the dialogue is reflected in the fact that it comes before the World Climate Summit and the wide discussions on the issue of climate change. Nationally determined reality within the framework of international principles governing international climate action.
Therefore, the issue of climate change needs to be combined and concerted all efforts to reduce its repercussions and future effects, and before it is too late, warnings and fears of further warming as a result of emissions and will have serious consequences for all.
At the end of what began, and despite all the challenges and circumstances in which the World Climate Summit is taking place, it will come up with recommendations and results on the ground to raise the ceiling of the face of climate change, to face this silent variable that speaks of high temperatures and fires, and frost and low temperatures and snow in an unfamiliar scene on human nature before the industrial revolution.
